Workshop description

This is a live, three hour virtual workshop class with Ryan Irelan, founder of Mijingo and chief instructor.

In order to keep the workshop as personal as possible, attendance is limited.

If you already use Git but want to know more about how it works under the hood–the Git plumbing–and some powerful workflow tools and commands you can use immediately, this workshop is for you.

Workshop Goals

  • Understand the basics of Git objects
  • Learn some of the Git innards and commands that do the dirty work (the “plumbing”)
  • Practice workflow tools for more Git happiness.

What We’ll Cover

This workshop is three parts:

  • Part 1: The Pieces of Git
  • Part 2: The Plumbing (What’s Behind Git)
  • Short Break
  • Part 3: The Porcelain (Workflow commands to help you work smarter and faster with Git)

What You Get

  • Access to this live, limited attendance workshop.
  • Workshop slides (PDF)
  • Workshop ebook (typically a 25-30 page PDF) containing examples and explanations
  • Access to an attendee chat room for post-workshop help and conversation

What is the difficulty level?

How do the online workshops work?

The live online courses at Mijingo use screen sharing and a live video stream. The workshops are live as you watch them, not recorded and played back.

How will I know how to access the live workshop?

After purchasing a virtual seat in the workshop, you will get a confirmation email from Ryan. As we get closer to the workshop you will get details about how to log in on the workshop day. If you don't receive anything, please contact Mijingo Support.

Is a recording available after the workshop is over?

Yes. Every attendee will get a copy of the workshop recording, which will be available in their Mijingo Course Library. The turnaround time for the recording could be up to one week (but hopefully a lot faster).

What if I have a suggestion?

We love feedback about our training materials. Please get in touch and let us know what you think.
